Dr. Dariusz Abramczyk

My scientific background is molecular microbiology. I graduated with MSc in Biotechnology and PhD in Molecular Biology from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Poland. Following postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin and University of Manchester, I joined University of Edinburgh working on short-term projects including the regulation of ribosome biosynthesis in yeast and, subsequently, an industrial project applying the engineering of metabolic pathways in bacteria for production of fungal polysaccharides, phenotyping assays and SCRaMbLE system for synthetic yeast strains, the merging of yeast synthetic chromosomes. Currently, I am the researcher in Prof. Chris French group working on industrial metabolic engineering based on YeastFab system.

My main research goals:

•    Development of the current YeastFab assembly method
•    High throughput construction and characterization of selective yeast promoters under lab conditions and stress conditions
