Project title - Establishing a standardised DNA assembly pipeline for natural product pathway engineering in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
My PhD project focusses on the development of a standardised modular toolkit in yeast and the characterisation of the regulatory elements in the library. This toolkit is then utilised for the high-throughput assembly and optimisation of natural product pathways. In order to screen the large number of strains, I have worked on the optimisation of biosensor systems for the detection of natural products in yeast.
I obtained my BSc in Biomedical Sciences specialising in Medical Microbiology from Newcastle University. I then moved to the University of Edinburgh to complete an MSc in Systems and Synthetic Biology.
