The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition is an annual competition where teams compete for projects involving synthetic biology. This year, my teammates and I will be working on the development of SMORE, a Site-specfic, Modular Recombination toolkit. Integrating technology such as a microfluidic device, genetic circuit construction, and mathematical modeling. These in order to facilitate research using site-specific recombinases and demonstrating its utility with a gene randomiser, implementing logic gates and a pulse generator, which are applicable in the field of metabolic engineering among many other disciplines.
