Personal note: Within my project, we are trying to develop new genetic circuits without mimicking normal cell behaviour. This will help to overcome issues currently present in Synthetic Biology and will allow us to develop new techniques for the development of biosensors and others.
I obtained my MSc. and Engineering degrees working on Environmental Biotechnology. The work was carried out at the Federico Santa María Technical University (Valparaiso, Chile), being my MSc. sponsored by the Scientific Technological Research Centre for Mining (CICITEM), Antofagasta, Chile. Thereafter, I worked at CICITEM executing a Fondecyt project, which searched to analyse the response, adaptation, metabolic capabilities and heavy metal resistances from Cupriavidus metallidurans strains, collaborating also with the Belgium Nuclear Research Centre (SCK-CEN), Mol, Belgium.
Last years I've specialised in Data Science and Data Analysis, broadening my areas of knowledge via applying Machine Learning algorithms, improving data architectures and generating data visualizations able to reach the general public.
In my free time, I rather spend time doing some sports such as swimming or cycling, although I also play football during weekends. I also like to play chess, guitar, read a book or make origami.
